{"id":401,"date":"2013-12-06T08:01:06","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T08:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asadkarim.co.uk\/?p=401"},"modified":"2013-12-06T08:02:24","modified_gmt":"2013-12-06T08:02:24","slug":"5-more-years-of-continued-uk-budget-deficits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asadkarim.co.uk\/?p=401","title":{"rendered":"5 More Years of Continued UK Budget Deficits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday (Thur 5th Dec 2013) HM Government, announced spending plans, and also the public spending numbers for the next 5 years.<\/p>\n<p>The numbers are very clear, HM Government will continue to spend more money than it earns, and for the next <strong>5<\/strong> years will run a budget deficit each year, and thus have to borrow to bridge the gap between income and expenditure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013-2014<\/strong> = \u00a3111,000 Million = <strong>\u00a3111 Billion<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2014-2015<\/strong> = \u00a396,000 Million = <strong>\u00a396 Billion<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2015-2016<\/strong> = \u00a379,000 Million = <strong>\u00a379 Billion<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2016-2017<\/strong> = \u00a351,000 Million =<strong> \u00a351 Billion<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2017-2018<\/strong> = \u00a323,000 Million = <strong>\u00a323 Billion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2211 (\u00a3111bn + \u00a396bn + \u00a379bn + \u00a351bn + \u00a323bn) = <strong>\u00a3360 bn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So the structural debt of the nation will grow over the next <strong>5 years by only \u00a3360 bn.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The OBR (Office of Budget Responisbility) predict in the year <strong>2018-19<\/strong> that their will be a potential budget surplus (income from taxation is greater than government expenditure) of <strong>\u00a32.2 bn<\/strong>.
