They are a fixed income investor, that are mainly investing in <strong>bonds<\/strong> (debt)<\/p>\n<p>Numbers are staggering:<\/p>\n<p>$1.97 trillion (<strong>\u00a31.21 Trillion<\/strong>) in assets under management<br \/>\n$1.61 trillion (<strong>\u00a3995 Billion = \u00a30.995 Trillion<\/strong>)\u00a0in third party client assets<\/p>\n<p>The flagship invesment fund, and perhaps the fund that has made Bill Gross and Pimco famous is the <strong>Pimco Total Return Fund<\/strong>. This is a bond fund<\/p>\n<p><strong>PIMCO Total Return Fund<\/strong> has assets <strong>$251,105 million<\/strong> = <strong>\u00a3156,848 million<\/strong> = <strong>\u00a3156 Billion<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis giant fund has its investments spead in these sectors:<br \/>\n<strong>US Government-Related Bonds 35.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mortgage Bonds 36.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>US Credit Bonds 9.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Non-U.S. Developed Bonds 2.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Emerging Market Bonds 6.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Other 5.00 %<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Money Market and Net Cash Equivalents 7.00 %<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The UK Operation of Pimco has <strong>Andrew Balls<\/strong> as the UK Managing Director. Andrew is the brother of the Shadow Chancellor <strong>Ed Balls<\/strong>, the MP for Morley and Outwood, West Yorkshire.
