They serve around 25 million insurance customers and have \u00a3505 billion of assets under management.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prudential.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.prudential.co.uk\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To fund its operations it has a bond issuance programme<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prudential.co.uk\/investors\/credit-investors\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.prudential.co.uk\/investors\/credit-investors<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Interesting to see the levels of debt that The Pru carries:-<\/p>\n<p>EUR\u00a020m<br \/>\nGBP\u00a03585m<br \/>\nUS$\u00a02800m<\/p>\n<p>That is in UK\u00a3<\/p>\n<p>\u00a314.8m + \u00a33,585m + \u00a31,917m = <strong>\u00a35,517 Million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So <strong>\u00a35.5 billion<\/strong> of Debt.<\/p>\n<p>Now with \u00a3505 Billion under investment management, if that was invested in say some investment product that was yielding 2% for example, that would give a return of \u00a310.1 Billion.<\/p>\n<p>So just the investment return is more than TWICE the debt that Prudential is carrying, which is why the credit ratings of Prudential are so high.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prudential plc is an international financial services group with significant operations in Asia, the in US (Jackson National Life)\u00a0and the UK (M&amp;G Investments).
