(about 89% of the UK GDP).<br \/>\nCash and balances at central banks \u00a339,695 Million (\u00a339 Billion)<br \/>\nCustomer accounts \u00a3427,704 million (<strong>\u00a3427 billion are deposits from customers<\/strong>)<br \/>\nLoans and advances to customers \u00a3427,767 million (\u00a3427 billion are loans to customers)<br \/>\nTrading portfolio assets \u00a3114,717 million (The banks trading assets from its day to day trading operations)<br \/>\nDerivative financial instruments \u00a3439,909 million (<strong>yes, \u00a3439 billion in derivatives<\/strong>)<br \/>\nWhat is incredible is the amount of derivatives on the balance sheet, larger than the actual deposits from customers. <strong>The assets\u00a0of Barclays are nearly the size of the total annual output (89%) of UK GDP<\/strong>.
